PCR plate is an important tool in life science laboratories. It is a flat plate with usually 96 wells where the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test is carried out. PCR is a biochemical technique used to amplify small quantities of DNA or RNA to millions or even billions of copies. PCR plates are available in various sizes and shapes, ranging from 8- to 96-wells, with each well capable of containing up to 200µL of sample. In addition to their use in PCR, PCR plates are also used in other molecular biology experiments such as DNA cloning, DNA sequencing and gel electrophoresis.
